Commissioner Keith Banks has been a Salvation Army Officer for almost sixty years. In response to what he and his wife Pauline knew to be the call of God, they have ministered and served in a variety of appointments and locations in the United Kingdom and overseas.
Spanning more than eight decades, The Banks Account quickly dispels any notion that doing God’s work in the world carries a built in guarantee of a trouble free life, but it does powerfully illustrate how God’s sufficient and sustaining grace can often change adversity into adventure, with the addition of an occasional, irrefutable real-life miracle.
Keith’s story is set in a Salvation Army context because that has been his life, but readers with little or no experience of the Army will find it uplifting reading. The Banks Account gives us the rough as well as the smooth, and the lows as well as the highs of Salvation Army officership, but in all things, Jesus, who is Lord of all, gets the glory!
