Joy Webb was a gifted songwriter who combined words and music in a uniquely powerful way. Her first Christmas song, A Starry Night, was recorded with her pop group The Joy Strings in 1964, and went into the Christmas charts. It subsequently became a Christmas favourite and is sung in schools and churches around the world. The Derric Johnson Vocal Orchestra (aka The Disney Choir) recorded an acapella version in 2008 and called it one of the 25 most loved Christmas songs.
What many people do not know is that Joy wrote many other Christmas songs across six decades, some with The Joy Strings like Christmas Can Be Every Day for You, some for the Sunbury Junior Singers like Noel, and some for adult choirs like the visionary Come Into Our World. This collection is really special in that it collects all the songs together for the first time for choirs to sing.
***If you don’t have a pianist, you can download these accompaniment tracks for your choir. They are exactly the same as the arrangements in the sheet music book.***
Enjoy these beautiful words and melodies that Joy gave us to brighten each Christmas…and to remind us is that “The Reason for Christmas is him”!

To say that these are "accompaniments" is very misleading. I had hoped these tracks could be used in congregational singing, but the accompaniments have been recorded in a way that only those who already know Joy Webb's songs will benefit. Perhaps I was expecting full backing tracks, but I don't actually think that would be too much to ask as it would give the accompaniments a far greater appeal. It could also be played as background music as an additional option. I realise that each song has been recorded to match the actual printed music notation, but it use is very limited for those who are new to Joy Webb and I regret paying to download the full album which I will probably never use.
