Boundless in Love was composed for the Boundless Congress, marking 150 years of The Salvation Army. This rousing song for double choir, is perfect for the end of a concert or celebratory service. An initial repeated motif gets passed around between the two choirs, rising in intensity until it leads into the section which dominates the remainder of the piece. The strongly rhythmic gospel feel of the main theme ‘Boundless in love’ is offset by calmer sections in the relative minor. After a percussion break the final section contains phrases which will challenge the agility of both singers and pianist, and first sopranos will enjoy the long top C at the end, part of a 7-part chord which brings the piece to a triumphant close.
