The 2nd and 3rd movements of Symphony of Psalms takes inspiration from the Psalms addressing the distinct themes of Hope and Trust.
The lyric, written mostly in the first person, speaks about God as guardian, light-bringer and provider of divine peace. Movement 2 should gently flow in a relaxed style with the Altos taking the initial lead. In contrast the third movement should contain much emotion and intensity.
