Stanley Ditmer’s testimony of faith in song (S.A.S.B. 848), written out of adversity almost seventy years ago, has survived the test of time. Phil Laeger’s contemporary melody has given it new life for present and future generations. Because this setting was originally written as a wedding processional, the mood is tender and majestic. The composition is built on two musical motifs derived from the lyrics, ‘The days I cannot see have all been planned for me’ and ‘His way is best’.
