Robert Redheads setting of 'My Lord delivered Daniel' employs a moderate swing rhythm with the voices accompanied by a bluesy piano part. The chorus is mostly in unison with just the last words 'Why cant he deliver me?' harmonised, until the penultimate chorus which is done softly to a pedal G in 6-part harmony. Verses are taken by tenors and basses with the upper parts adding a chordal accompaniment in 3 parts.
